Full-Time Work Opportunities

Maine Youth Action Network is seeking a Youth Workforce Development Coordinator to join our team supporting the Gateway to Opportunity and other youth workforce development programming.

The Gateway to Opportunity (G2O) program connects low-income young people with paid workplace learning projects at various host sites throughout the state. The Youth Workforce Development Coordinator supports statewide and local youth engagement programs and initiatives that build young people’s resilience and strengthen youth leadership on issues of public health, social justice, youth employment, and restorative practices.

Schedule: Full-time 40 hour/week, hourly position. Schedule is flexible with some afternoons and overnights required.

Location: May be located anywhere in Maine. Hybrid role with some remote work possible, in-person expected in accordance with programming schedules.

Part-Time Work Opportunities

These roles are available for young adults (ages 18-24) living in Maine. No prior experience required for consideration.

Facilitator Training: This month-long learning experience invites emerging facilitators, ages 18-24, to develop or strengthen group facilitation competencies, one-on-one mentoring skills, and strategies for navigating conflict. Participants who complete the training program will receive a certificate of participation, stipend, and opportunities to connect with employers. The program is free and will serve as a launch point for paid facilitation roles.

Peer Navigator Program: Peer Navigators work as coaches and mentors to high school aged youth in Maine. Navigators support youth participants through 1:1 coaching sessions, weekly check-ins, and additional networking opportunities. The program uses a virtual platform to facilitate goal setting and connections. All peer navigators receive substantive training as part of the program, including completing the facilitator training initiative and other mental health focused course. This opportunity includes a stipend paid upon completion of each phase of the program.
