Present or Volunteer at the Maine Youth Leadership Conference

Presenter Info

We are seeking presenters for the upcoming Maine Youth Leadership Conference!

Each year, approximately 300+ Maine youth leaders from diverse communities gather to build relationships, discuss the issues they are facing, educate themselves about social justice, public health, and equity, and have fun. This conference is a place for young people to meet like-minded youth and start important conversations.

We’re looking for presenters who have interactive and engaging session ideas. We hope these learning sessions will allow young people to build their own unique skillsets as leaders; explore, learn, and build positive relationships; and be able to take their learning back home to turn it into action!

Please review the information below before filling out your application. Applications will be accepted January 30, 2026. If accepted, we will send you an acceptance form with information on registration and requesting more specifics and promotional materials for your session

Apply to Present!

Conference dates: March 19th and 20th, 2026

Location: Central Maine Community College, Auburn, Maine

Scheduling:

        Day 1 (3/19):

        Middle school workshops: 45 min

        High school workshops: 90 min

        Day 2 (3/20):

        Mixed age workshop: 60 min

Hands-on skill-building and career readiness expo: 2 hrs total with rotating groups

Sessions will be selected based on these guidelines:

  • Youth Involvement: We will prioritize proposals where young people lead, co-lead, or have helped create them. It's a chance for youth to learn from each other or from near-peers! We encourage workshops led by young people, teams with both youth and adults, or if led by adults, workshops that have had input from young people.

  • Youth Ambassador Requests: The conference will focus on topics suggested by the youth planning team. Presenting groups or topics that they recommend will be given priority.

  • Interactive Participation: We will prioritize proposals that involve everyone actively. Instead of just listening, participants should be able to join in and take part in activities. While there might be some presenting at the start, we are looking for workshops where everyone gets involved.

If you have an idea for a session you’d like to present at the conference, please click the button below to learn more and send us your proposal!

Table at the Networking and Opportunities Fair!

We’re also looking for presenters who want to host a table at our Networking & Opportunities Fair. If you are looking to hire young people, have awesome programming you want to share with youth, or are trying to spread your youth group to more schools across Maine, please apply to host a table! Please note that your organization or youth group can both give a workshop and host a table. Email myan@opportunityalliance.org for additional information about the Networking & Opportunities Fair!
