Trainings and Technical Assistance

Always Learning.

The Maine Youth Action Network curates interactive, practice based trainings that build youth leadership and strengthen the capacity of adults, organizations, and systems through positive youth development and social‑emotional learning. Rooted in research and paired with practical tools, our trainings support real‑world application and meaningful change.

Learning Opportunities

We offer three training pathways, each can stand alone or be adapted to meet your needs.

  • Designed for educators and school‑based staff, this track adapts youth engagement practices for classrooms and other school‑connected environments. Trainings focus on fostering belonging, amplifying youth voice, and integrating restorative and facilitative approaches into educational settings.

  • Designed for direct youth professionals, this track focuses on the core skills needed for direct work with young people, including relationship‑building, facilitation, restorative practices, and youth‑driven program design. Trainings emphasize hands‑on practice, reflection, and strategies that can be immediately applied in youth‑facing spaces.

  • Designed for young adults and emerging professionals, this track focuses on building facilitation collaboration, and systems level thinking skills that equip emerging leaders to navigate complex environments, work across differences and continue meaningful change with organizations.

Maine Youth Action Network offers trainings that do more than build knowledge; they help shift practice and strengthen systems. Our trainings support youth centered work by building youth leadership alongside the adult and organizational capacity needed to sustain it, using power sharing, collective learning, and real-world application.

Our team is committed to ongoing learning, staying connected to youth and communities, and engaging in continuous professional development so our trainings remain relevant, responsive, and grounded in both research and lived experience. With the support of our funders, we’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with communities across Maine and expand access to high-quality learning experiences that help youth and communities thrive.
