Elevating Youth Leadership

MYAN is excited to announce the launch of the Maine Impact Fellowship! We are recruiting high school juniors and seniors who are passionate about making a positive difference and ready to collaboratively lead their peers. Maine Impact Fellows will develop leadership skills, investigate issues facing young people, and connect with community organizations to strengthen youth leadership. Through project work and professional development, this cohort will design key programming for the 2027 Maine Youth Leadership Conference. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Build leadership skills through training and group work 

  • Learn about issues facing young people in the state of Maine 

  • Develop themes and topics for the Maine Youth Leadership Conference 2027 

  • Create plans for break out group discussions and main stage events for MYLC 2027 

  • Serve as ambassadors and mentors for young people in Maine 

Compensation and perks: 

  • $250 stipend upon the completion of the fellowship 

  • Certification in MYAN Group Facilitation and Peer Mentorship 

  • Connection to a network of community organizations, future employment opportunities, and other youth leaders across Maine 

  • Complimentary cohort retreats throughout Maine

Commitment: 

Attend bi-weekly virtual meetings: Thursdays 6:30PM-8PM from September 10th to December 17th  

Attend weekly virtual meetings: Thursdays 6:30PM-7:30PM from January 7th to March 25th

Attend all in-person retreats (dates listed below) 

Attend both full conference days March 17th-18th 

Fellowship start date: September 2026 

Fellowship End Date: April 2027 

Time commitment: ~150 hours total

  • September 18th, 19th, 20th 2026 Location TBD  

  • November 6th, 7th, 8th 2026 Location TBD 

  • February 17th,18th,19th 2026 in Auburn, Maine 

  • MYLC: March 16th,17th,18th 2026 in Auburn, Maine

Travel throughout Maine is required. We have a limited availability to transport individuals, but individuals who need help coordinating transportation are still encouraged to apply! 

Travel stipends are available to all participants in addition to program completion stipend.

Completing an application does not guarantee a spot. Applications received by August 21st will be prioritized. Our team will reach out in late August for short conversations and selected participants will be notified in early September.
