Community Based Action

Community Based Action

Community-Driven Research with Youth

This training will debunk myths and assumptions about research and will aim to help participants understand the importance of youth experience and expertise in social change efforts. Participants will gain an understanding of community-driven research and will leave the training with actionable strategies for recruiting and co-researching local issues in partnership with youth leaders.

This training is virtual and runs for 90 minutes. Click one of the dates below to register.

Practicing with a Restorative Lens

Are you interested in how to apply the principles of restorative practices into your everyday interactions with young people here in Maine? Over the course of four, one hour-long sessions, this training will introduce you to some of the basic tenets of restorative practices through content delivery, interactive workshopping, and dialogue. You will have the opportunity to practice around topics of building group culture and trust, fostering relationships, utilizing the lens of critical consciousness, and facilitating dialogue.

This training runs for four 60 minute zoom calls, over the course of one week. This training combines video pre-learning segments with in-person dialogues.
