Welcome to the new MYAN.ORG!
"Young people should be at the forefront of global change and innovation. Empowered, they can be key agents for development and peace. If, however, they are left on society's margins, all of us will be impoverished. Let us ensure that all young people have every opportunity to participate fully in the lives of their societies."
~Kofi Annan

- MYAN is very proud to announce that we were again awarded a multi-year contract to continue to support youth leadership and involvement in Maine! This initiative is funded by three programs of the Maine Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (the Partnership For A Tobacco-Free Maine, the Teen & Young Adult Health Program, and the Physical Activity & Nutrition Program) as well as the Office of Substance Abuse.
THANK YOU to our funding partners for their investment in this work, and to everyone who has supported MYAN through the years. A special thanks to those who who wrote letters on our behalf during the contract bid process--we were honored by what you wrote and by your willingness to share your experiences.
- MYAN is hiring! Go to the Meet the Staff page for more information.
- Are you an HMP YAP? (Or want to know what the heck an HMP YAP is?) Find an HMP Youth Activity Resource Guide, success stories and more on the Healthy Maine Partnerships' Youth Advocacy Programs (HMP's YAPs) page!
- Having trouble getting through to other pages of this website from your school or workplace? Please ask your network administrator to add www.myan.org to a safe list so that you can access the wide range of tips, tools, resources & information MYAN makes available!

The Maine Youth Action Network (MYAN) trains, supports, connects and advocates for youth organized to effect positive change through school and community-based peer programs. We are a partnership of youth and adult staff working to help youth and their advisors in peer groups to fulfill their own mission. Youth groups of all types can be part of MYAN, including social action, prevention, education, peer listening, mediation, mentoring, health promotion, civil rights and others. If your group is working to make a positive difference, join the network to gain ideas, support and information from other young people and advisors from across the state.
