What's It All About
The Maine Anti-Tobacco Youth Summit is an annual event that focuses on trying to:
- STOP tobacco companies' lies and manipulation,
- help people QUIT smoking and/or support others who want to quit smoking, and
- to RESIST the pressure to smoke and help your peers resist it, too!
This event is absolutely FREE and mobilizes youth from grades 7-12 from across Maine to come together with adult activists to fight the battle against tobacco. Attendees take part in various workshops and activities to help them gain information, resources, skills and connections to fight tobacco in their communities and create healthier homes. Each year's event is planned by MYAN with guidance & input from youth leaders to ensure this event is fun, inspiring and relevant for YOU! This event is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Partnership For A Tobacco-Free Maine.

Why One Day? We've heard your feedback!
~ We heard you that the longer events were exhausting, and that by the end participants were feeling burnt, so we've packed a ton into one day to keep the energy high and give you the most bang for your buck!
~ We know it can be difficult to be away from work/home/school for multiple days, so this year's event involves less time away.
Still want the overnight experience?
Does your group look forward to the teambuilding of an overnight experience? Consider registration for the MYAN Peer Leadership Conference, which takes place the day before on November 11th. |
