"Guard your light and protect it. Move it forward into the world and be fully confident that if we connect light to light to light, and join the lights together of the one billion young people in our world today, we will be enough to set our whole planet aglow."

Find Events & Trainings

MYAN is committed to helping you connect with other folks within the network to find events & trainings and to share information about your own.

Find Events

There's a lot going on & it can be hard to navigate!

  • Find information about MYAN's events through our MYAN Calendar, including:

    • MYAN Annual Peer Leadership Conference. Learn about an amazing conference for youth and adults who are passionate about finding ways to create positive change in their communities. Workshops focus on a wide range of issues and leadership skills.

    • Annual Maine Anti-Tobacco Youth Summit. Passionate about fighting big tobacco and helping people live healthier lives by kicking butts? This event is for you. This event is organized by MYAN and sponsored by the Partnership For A Tobacco-Free Maine.

    • MYAN skillbuilding trainings (on youth-adult partnership, youth engagement, group development, teambuilding, advocacy skills, exploring youth participation on councils/boards, etc.). MYAN's trainings are all about bringing people together to build skills both youth and adults need to have a positive impact on their communities. Learn what kinds of trainings MYAN offers and how to request a training in your area.

  • You can find region & topic specific event calendars in our online networking & skillbuilding groups. (You must be a registered member of MYAN's network to access & join groups. Click "register" on the green bar above if you haven't registered as part of MYAN's network.)

  • You can use the "site search" option on the navigation menu to search for key words, and that may lead you to events that are posted on our website.

  • There are many other events calendars you can use to explore what's out there, and most of them allow you to submit your events for inclusion, too. Check our list out below.

Promote Your Events

  • If you are a member of MYAN's online community (our webolution!) you can submit them to us and we'll post them within the appropriate networking & skillbuilding groups.

  • As a member of MYAN's online community you can also post about your events/trainings in the forums within the networking & skillbuilding groups you have joined (a separate step from registering as part of the online community overall), which is a great way to promote your events, resources, and other work, as well as ask for support & get conversations going about issues you care about. Explore the groups to get started, or visit our member how-to page if you'd like some more guidance.

  • You can use the "Find Network Members" search function to call up a list of people based on region, county, area of interest, etc., and you can form connections & exchange messages with those folks through the system

  • We can also highlight events/trainings in our e-newsletter when timing allows. Email us at myan@propeople.org to submit something to be considered for MYAN's News to Use. Please put "submission for e-news" in the subject line.
