"Guard your light and protect it. Move it forward into the world and be fully confident that if we connect light to light to light, and join the lights together of the one billion young people in our world today, we will be enough to set our whole planet aglow."

FAQs About MYAN Membership

Frequently Asked Questions About MYAN Webolution Membership

MYAN launched a new online community and contact management system in October 2009. Anyone who was connected to MYAN before was carried over to our "nonmember database" but only those who have registered online through our new system since October 2009 are considered current members

We very much want to stay connected with our past contacts, and hope that people who have been connected with us in the past will confirm their membership by registering through our new system, and we look forward to making new connections, too, so please spread the word! The larger the network the more powerful a tool it can be for networking & change! Registering is easy & FREE!

I registered through the new system, so why am I still receiving emails asking me to register?

If you have gone through the registration process, you may still be receiving emails if we accidentally have a duplicate entry in our system, or if your email address is also connected to another account. Contact us at myan@propeople.org and we'll figure out the issue ASAP. We don't want to be sending you emails you don't need!

I'm not a member now? Then why do I receive announcements from MYAN?

We launched a new website, contact management and online community system in October 2009 (we call it our "webolution") and we've been gradually transitioning into using our new system for communications, so there was a transition period during which nonmembers were still receiving our e-newsletter and other announcements. We are now past that transition period, though, and we don't want to lose touch! To receive newsletters, targeted emails about grants and programs, access our online community and much more, you need to register as a member.

We do send occasional emails, however, to all contacts, regardless of their membership status (when we're trying to let people know about a new program or big event, for example.) Only those who have registered with our new site since October are considered current members, though. Please register today.

Why become a member?

It's FREE and is a way for you to declare yourself as a supporter of youth voice. Our new website & online community (our "webolution") give us tons of new capacity to better support you. To learn more about member versus nonmember benefits, visit our "About the Webolution" page and scroll down to the comparison chart.

What happens if I don't register as a member?

You will not receive our e-newsletter, get targeted emails about news, grants or leadership opportunities, and you won't have access to the online networking components of our new website, or to downloadable handouts/tips/tools. You will have access to the areas of our website that are open to all users.

If we were connected with you in the past, we will also keep your contact information in our "nonmember” database in case we need to reach you. Occasionally you will see emails from us when we reach out to our full contact list with program promotional information.

What if I don't want to be in MYAN's contact database at all?

We understand that people move, change jobs, interests shift, etc. If you no longer want to maintain a connection with MYAN on any level, just email us at myan@propeople.org and we'll remove you from our database completely. You can always visit the site, or register as part of the network again in the future.
